Experience creative dishes with fresh ingredients sourced from our own Argus kitchen garden and nearby farm ‘Vale Hill’ in our flagship Hepburn Springs restaurant The Argus Dining Room.

Our restaurant has become well known as one of the must have dining experiences though out Daylesford, Hepburn Springs and Macedon Ranges region. The Argus located in our beautifully renovated hotel dining room, that does justice to the grand Hepburn Springs restaurant it was built to be in the 1930s.

The Argus Dining Room

The Argus Dining Room serves stunning Modern Australian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, clean flavours and regional produce. Guests can enjoy a varied seasonal menu in understated but sophisticated surroundings designed by interior designer Stuart Rattle.

Utilising food grown onsite in our Argus Kitchen Garden, the menu is also complemented by rare breed beef and lamb from the hotel’s farm ‘Vale Hill’ in Smeaton.

Our extensive wine selection, handpicked by sommelier Jeremy Shiell features boutique wines from small-scale, family owned farms and growers expressing wine of terroir with minimal interventions or additions.

The Argus has been acknowledged as one of the regions best restaurants receiving awards from Gourmet Traveller, Luxury Travel Magazine and The Age Good Food Guide to mention a few.

The Conservatory

Our relaxing breakfast room located on the rear terrace of the original hotel building offers a gourmet breakfast selection every morning from 8am.

Elegantly furnished with soft cushioned banquettes, comfortable cane chairs and hanging pendulum lamps, guests can enjoy seasonal cooked to order menu.

The cooked to order menu offers a selection of breakfast favourites updated regularly to reflect the available produce.
